Long Description:
A very popular swimming area that can get quite crowded during a hot summer day. During the summer the flow rate of the river drops and the 2 swimming pools become a great place to cool off. Water temperature can be cool but not too cold. It has a very good ledge for the brave to jump off of.
It can be accessed from 2 ways, Cattell Rd on the east side of the river and Allsbrook Rd. from the west.
My parents brought my brother and I here when we were both pre-teens. I came here on my own as we grew up in Parksville and the 4 wheel drive club I used to belong to held a couple of clean up projects here during BC Rivers day. (September)
Although I now live in Nanaimo, a city south of here, my family and I try to come here at least once a year.
