description/mission statement:
Locating and waymarking memorials, cenotaphs, cairns, plaques, or other places dedicated to people who did not die during military conflicts or was a police officer who died in the line of duty.
Many communities have a memorial of some sort that honours a person who contributed to society in some noteworthy way. This could include explorers, inventors, or a citizen who dedicated time to the community.
The memorials come in different shapes, sizes, and objects. However, this would not include named buildings, parks, streets, and so on. It must be some permanent marker or structure that has no other purpose than to honour the person or persons.
