Waymarking isn't something you have to wait for the 'off' months to get going. If you run on to something that you'd like to waymark, mark a waypoint on your GPSr and take a couple pictures, and then go to waymarking.com to find out if the item is already waymarked. If it is, you can post your visit; if not, you can initiate a new waymark. When you get some experience, you can get as fancy and hi-tech as you want, or not; but you can always waymark in this basic way.
