Moose Lodges and Centers
Managed By: Icon Here Moose on the Loose
The Loyal Order of Moose is a fraternal and service organization founded in 1888 with about 2,000 Lodges found in all 50 states in the United States, in four Canadian provinces, as well as in Great Britain and Bermuda.
Expanded Description:

According to their website, the Loyal Order of Moose is an international organization of men and women dedicated to caring for young and old, bringing communities closer together and celebrating life. The organization was founded in the late 1800s with the modest goal of offering men an opportunity to gather socially. However, it was reinvented during the first decade of the 20th century into an organizational dynamo of men and women who set out to build a city that would brighten the futures of thousands of children in need all across North America.

Instructions for Posting a Moose Lodges and Centers Waymark:

The goal is to seek out and photograph Loyal Order of Moose lodge buildings, family centers, and retirement centers. Historic lodge buildings that are no longer used by the Loyal Order of Moose may also be posted here, as long as you provide photo evidence or a link to a website that documents the former use of the building as a Moose lodge. For information on Moose locations, visit these links: United States and Canada and Great Britain.

1. NAME: The name of the lodge, family center, or retirement center and its location should be included in the title. Generally this should be the city/town, state and/or country -- whatever is appropriate to its location.

Example 1: LOOM Lodge 2134 - Jacksonville, FL

Example 2: LOOM Grays Lodge 318 - Tilbury, Essex, UK

2. COORDINATES: These should be taken from the main entrance to the Moose facility. If this is impossible for any reason, please state this in your description.

3. PHOTOS: At least two original photographs (taken by you) -- a view showing an exterior view of the entire Moose facility, or major portion thereof (this should be the default photo), and a close-up clearly showing a sign with the name of the facility. If there is no such sign, please state this and the requirement will be waived. A GPSr photo is not required.

4. DESCRIPTION: Include as much information about this particular Moose facility as you can, especially its unique features and history.
