Roadside historic markers are our windows to the past. They educate us, they make us curious to investigate, or they provide a nice excuse to take a break and stretch our legs while we read what happened here. This category is for those markers found in the state of Oklahoma.

Oklahoma is full of rich history and culture, this category is to waymark the plaques and markers found around town and out on the country roads all over the wonderful state.
Instructions for Posting a Oklahoma Historic Markers Waymark:
The waymark MUST be located in the state of Oklahoma. 2. You must provide accurate coordinates. 3. At least a photo of the sign, but prefered would be two photos, one of the sign and one of the area. 4. In the "long description" field, please include a brief description of the purpose for the marker. What happened here? You can copy the marker text, or summarize it, or use your own words. 5. The text of a marker usually only hints at the depth of the history behind it. Do a web search and link to additional information, if it is available, using the optional field provided.
Instructions for Visiting a Waymark in this Category:
Preferred would be to post a photo of you OR your GPS at the marker location. Also if you know of any additional links not already mentioned about this bit of Oklahoma history please include that in your log.
