Description:: An ice rink is a frozen body of water where people can ice skate or play winter sports. Some of its uses include a playing field for ice hockey, figure skating exhibitions and contests, and ice shows.

In this category please add any permanent ice skating rinks, old and new, and include some information about them.
Some informative things to include are if there are skating boots available for rent, snack bar or restaurant, number of rinks, etc.

Instructions for Posting a Ice Skating Rinks Waymark:

Please, note that this is an adopted category so the requirements reflect changes that are not necessarily met by all of the waymarks you may see here, which are grandfathered in, of course.

#1 - NAME : Your Waymark MUST follow the covention "Ice rink name - City, State/Country".
For example --> Mega Arena, Miami, FL is acceptable. If the Ice rink does not have a specifice name, just name it as best as you can like.

#2 - PERMANENCY : The Ice Rink MUST be permanent. Seasonal rinks will be denied. If the Ice rink is an outdoor one but permanent because the place is really cold all the year, add a note to the reviewer saying that this is a permanent rink.

#3 - COORDINATES : Please, add the coordinates of the building entrance or of the rink itself. If you have both (rink in a mall for example), this is better.

#4 - PHOTOS : Post at least ONE photo of the area. If the rink is in a standalone building, the photo can be of the rink or the building itself. If the rink is inside a mall or other communal place, the photo must be of the rink. If you cannot provide at least one photo in relation with the rink, the waymark will be denied. DO NOT INCLUDE GPSr in your photos. Many photos are encouraged.

#5 - DESCRIPTION : Since describing an ice rink is difficult, a minimum of description is required. If you have no idea what to tell, try to give some informations about the rink size, the availability to public, how to access, boots rent, any sports club, any restaurants or other facilities in the building.

#6 - LANGUAGE : We recognize waymarking as a global hobby and welcome waymarks from all countries. Because of our international scope, we also acknowledge ENGLISH as our lingua franca. English will create the highest level of accessibility globally. All waymarks must have at least a short description in ENGLISH. We encourage bilingual and multilingual waymarks, but one of the languages must be English. Translations made from websites are accepted. If you want a better translation, you can ask a leader, an officer, or another member.

If you have any problem with the requirements or if your waymark have been denied for a reason you don't understand, we would be happy to help you. You can send a private message to the leader or the officers, whenever you need.

Instructions for Visiting a Waymark in this Category:

There are no specific visit requirements, however telling about your visit is strongly encouraged. Additional photos of the building or rink to add to the gallery are also nice, but not required. Pictures with a GPS or you in them is highly discouraged.
