Cable Skiing and Wakeboarding
Managed By: Icon Here Cableways
A Cableway is used to practice towed water sports such as Water Ski, Wakeboarding, or others. Instead of being pulled by a boat the user is pulled by a cable suspended above water in a specifically designed pylons. The Cableways can be used either for people with experience or without experience and are extremely fun to ride.
Expanded Description:

Cableway in Antalya, Turkey - On a Cableway the person is not pulled by a boat but by an overhead cable which is suspended 8-12 meters above water surface by specifically designed pylons. The Cableway can be used to do Water Ski, Wakeboarding, Wakeskating, Kneeboarding, and even Barefoot Skiing. Basically you can do anything that glides on water by the cable system.

The first Cableway was created by the German engineer Bruno Rixenand on a lake in Bordesholm, Germany, in 1959. The first commercial cableway was build in Benidorm, Spain in 1966 and it´s still working today. Nowadays there are many cables scattered all over the world. Perhaps the most comprehensive (but for sure not complete) list of cable parks is available on this map:

McCormick’s Cable Park in Tampa, FL - The Cableway is safe, clean, quiet, and environmentally friendly way to practice towed water sports. The major advantage is that there is no expensive motorboat needed, this makes it very affordable for the individual user.

Most experts agree that the potential for a dramatic rise in construction of even more cable parks around the world over the next decade is excellent. Indeed, if history is any indication, cable wakeboarding has an awesome future!
