This Category is about RE-creating those picture perfect post-cards sold at all tourist traps. Find a Postcard, find the spot, and take a current picture at the same spot in the same location.
Expanded Description:
This is a unique challenge. This category was designed to share the beautiful scenes & locations found on Postcards from around the world. Your task, if you choose to accept it, is to find a public domain photo (or on you have personally taken or own), and take as close to an identical photo at the same location where the Postcard was taken.
Instructions for Posting a Picture Perfect Postcards Waymark:
To log a find, you must include the following:
-Provide the name of the Location ( Usually on the back of the Postcard), the City & State in the Title, (in that order).
-Determine the latitude and longitude by physically visiting the site,
- Provide one or more non-copyrighted photographs of the place from that location/scene where the original Postcard was taken. ( Must be as exact as possible, If the falls in the Postcard have a rainbow for example then your Photo must have one too, if you can not get a rainbow in your photo then find another postcard that does not have a rainbow on the Postcard.)
-picture of the scene/site with the post card
-close up picture (scan is better) of both the front AND back of the post card.
- complete as many variables as possible.
