Instructions for Posting a New Zealand Historic Places Waymark:

Accurate coordinates. Do not use web based maps (or similar programs) since those programs are unreliable and can be up to a 1/4 mile off.
Must be listed with a historical organization or the New Zealand Historic Places Trust. You can do a search here: www.historic.org.nz/Register/Search.asp. If you cannot find the location in the database, then you are still welcome to post the waymark as long as you also post a picture of the Historic Places Trust sign that is mounted at the location.
Have a non-copyrighted clear photo of the plaque
A non-copyrighted photo of the historic area or object. More photos are encouraged.
Do not include yourself or your GPS in the default images
The name used for the waymark must be the name given by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust (unless a database search returns no results, as stated above); no witty names. The name must also include the text "New Zealand". This makes the waymark easier to locate during certain kinds waymark web searches.
In the log description, give as much information as possible describing the location and it's history.
