Description:: Hey, that person is famous! Help us record the hip, happening spots where celebrities hang out (not the celebrity themselves). If you catch a celebrity out of their element, record the location you saw them!

Expanded Description:

If you see a famous person of any sort, we want to know where and when. Did you see Paris Hilton at your Starbucks? Mark down the Starbucks and tell us who was there. Was Shaquille O'Neal throwin' down the beers at your favorite watering hole? Mark it! We want to know where the stars hang out.

We don't want celebrities in their element. Shaq at the bar is good, Shaq at the basketball arena will not be accepted.

These rules went into effect as of 12:47 PM on February 4th, 2007. Any waymarks entered prior to this time will be grandfathered in, despite their not following the rules.

Instructions for Posting a Celebrity Hangouts Waymark:

1a. We will not be counting Jeremy Irish, Bryan Roth or Elias Alvord as celebrities, so please do not include them here, thanks. 1. You must include the name and type of star in your waymark post (fields provided for you).

2. Naming the waymark: If you saw Paris Hilton at your Starbucks, please name the waymark "Paris Hilton's Starbucks" Other examples of properly named celebrity sighting waymarks: "Shaq's Green Lantern Bar and Grill", "Bill Clinton's McDonald's", "Jacques Cousteau's Old Navy", etc. Seeing a celebrity where they are expected to be seen, like an actor on the red carpet at a Hollywood premiere or a basketball player at the arena will NOT be allowed.

3. Include the time of day that you spotted the celebrity.

4. We don't care if you saw the celebrity at this location yesterday, we just want a list of spots that celebrities have eaten at/visited/bought things from/etc. For example, if you saw a celebrity at your grocery store 6 months ago, it's okay to mark that grocery store, so long as the grocery store still exists. 30 years is too long ago, you must have seen them within the past 5 years.

5. Please do not post the homes of celebrities here.

6. OPTIONAL - if your celebrity is slightly obscure, please give a short description of who your celebrity is. For example, for Gary Locke you should write something like "Gary Locke is the former governor of Washington State".

7. OPTIONAL (but awesome if possible) - Include a photo of the celebrity at the waymark location. Extra bonus points if you take the photo of you with the star at the location.

You don't have to see the celebrity in order to visit this waymark, only to create the waymark. This category is about the places where the celebrities hang out, not the celebrities themselves.
