Description:
Grange Halls are located in many rural communities. Our goal is to find them all, active or not, and post a Waymark page for them.
Expanded Description:
The National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry was founded in 1867. It's local chapters were a gathering point in rural communities. Nationally, it was a voice of farmers. Membership peaked at over 1,000,000, but still remains in excess of 300,000.
In many small towns there are current or old grange buildings still standing. This category is seeking those local Grange buildings.
Instructions for Posting a Grange Halls Waymark:
For each Waymark posted to this category, you will need to post a picture of the building for a local chapter of a grange. You will need to identify if the building is still in use. The grange should be identified by county and grange chapter name. If the grange chapter has its own website, the website should be listed.
Instructions for Visiting a Waymark in this Category:
To post a visit to an existing Grange Hall waymark, you will need to post a picture of the front of the building, with the name of the chapter in the background if that is possible. Including your gps device in the picture is not neccesary, but wouldn't be cause for disapproval. If your Grange Hall has any unusual or unique features that you feel others would enjoy viewing, additional pictures are always welcome.
