A look at the list on the will show not all are churches. Some sites are barns, houses, grave sites, towns and more.

Instructions for Posting a Historic United Methodist Sites Waymark:
Waymarks submitted to this category have to include a link to the UMC web page that lists their waymark, in order to be approved.

Numbered Sites:
All Historic UMC Sites must have been "officially" numbered by the UMC, as listed on the Register Of Historic Sites page, and should include the number in the first position of the waymarks name.

Heritage Landmarks:
Those designated as "Heritage Landmarks" by the UMC, may or may not be numbered. Since they are listed on the official UMC site they can also be posted here. Those not numbered should be titled, as close as possible, to how they appear on the UMC site. Some Heritage Landmarks have "Clusters"

Heritage Landmark Clusters:
Clusters are historic areas that have multiple structures or features that when combined make up the "Heritage Site" The sites within the cluster may be waymarked individually, as long as a link is provided to the Heritage Landmark that has the sites listed. (The links are in boldface on the UMC site list.) Visit the Heritage Landmark link for a list of what is included in the cluster, this will also help clarify what a cluster is.

Waymark Images:
Please include in your waymark a closeup of the numbered plaque and an overall picture of the site.
