This monument is dedicated to 25th Tennessee Infantry Regiment in recognition of their service during the Battle of Chickamauga, fought September 19–20, 1863. This is one of two monuments to the 25th Tennessee Infantry on the battlefield. It marks their location at sundown Sept. 20, 1863.

Short Significance Description:

Monument contributes to nat'l significance of the park under NR Criterion A because it represents the national movement among veterans to commemorate Civil War battlefields. This was the first U.S. national military park.

Short Physical Description

1'6" wide x 1' deep x 3' high, the marker is a rectangular block of smooth-faced Tennessee gray marble.

Each location on the map has a number associated with it that cross-references to an index on the back of the map that has the name of the marker (called the Chick-Chatt NMP monument numbering system). Park at the end of the road on Snodgrass Field (last tour stop). Follow the path west. You will pass the monument to the 2nd Minnesota, and the McCook Headquarters Monument. You will find a clearing with several markers and cannons. The monument to the 25th TN is in the clearing.
