Long Description:
Bell tower of the Portimão Church.
The original church dates back to the 14th century ()but only a few elements from that time remain in the actual temple. The church was severely damaged by the 1755 Earthquake (the Lisbon 1755 Earthquake) and was rebuilt after.
The church was greatly modified in the eighteenth century, but still retains the main portal.
This reconstruction was rather hasty, like so many others made after the mega-earthquake. In the bell tower were applied indiscriminately, fragments of the building before the collapse, as tombstones and slabs (this was discovered in archaeologic works).
The tower holds 4 bells with an electrical device that allows the bells to be played manually or with a timer (hourly).
We didn´t find any relevant information about the bells.

The clock as a stone face with roman numerals carved and painted black and black pointers.
We didn´t found any relevant information about it but it was probably mounted during the first half of the 20th century.
