Long Description:
Constructed in 1891 as a two-room school serving the educational needs of elementary students in rural Strykersville, the School House is an excellent example of Queen Anne Architecture.

Enrollment had been dwindling for some time when in 1971, the few-remaining students were transferred to local school districts and the building sat vacant.

Today the schoolhouse houses the town of Sheldon Historical Mseum and community library.
