Long Description:

Depicted Renaissance-Baroque-Classicist burgher house N° 50 is one of several valuable historic houses surrounding main public space of town Kostelec nad Cernými lesy - Námestí Smirických (Square of Smirický').

Burgher house N° 50 was constructed after 1564 in Renaissance style, but our first written record is from 1611, when it was sold by Václav Okurka to Martin Pavel called "Rozporejter". House, destroyed by fire during war in December 1620, was erected again as a Baroque structure. During ownership of Adam Kourimský it housed pub (1650). Current building' shape is a result of the last principal Classicist reconstruction (owner Jan Dvorácek, high mansarde roof added) after great town's fire in May 28, 1814. During the last reconstruction of this residential house in 2000 were unfortunately removed valuable front facade Classisist decorations...
