Long Description:
Lynn Riggs (1899-1954) was a poet and playright. His play "Green Grow the Lilacs" was adapted to the Broadway stage in 1943 with the title "Oklahoma!". It was later made into a Rodgers and Hammerstein film in 1955.

The original "Surrey With the Fringe on Top" is located in the Claremore Museum of History. On display next to the surrey is a bronze plaque which reads:
