Long Description:
This anchor belonged to a steamboat merchant ship that ran aground close to where Curacao's Seaquarium is currently located. The region around Curacao's Seaquarium is named after this event: "Bapor Kibra", or "Broken Steamboat" in Papiamentu.

The anchor was placed by a small bridge leading to the entrance of the Seaquarium; its identical twin lies underwater on a deep and rocky slope, and can only be visited via a Substation Curacao submarine tour. The actual steamboat wreck, however, lies within 60'-85' of water not far from shore and is a recreational dive site.
