Long Description:
These sculptures are unusual because they depict the female sphinxes in a casual and relaxed sitting position rather than the usual sitting on haunches or sitting in a more formal stlye.
Wikipedia's page for the artwork at the Palace (visit link) informs us that the artist is Johann Wilhelm Beyer and that the artworks at the Palace were created between 1773 and 1780.
