Long Description:
In the span of about 30 km on Whanganui River Road you can travel from Jerusalem, through London to Athens.

During the 19th century, missionary Richard Taylor was asked to provide names for the settlements along the Whanganui River. London was rendered in Maori as Ranana, and remains the commonly used name for the locality in the 2000s.

Not far from London is Kawana Mill, built in 1853 and designated a NZ Historic Place in 1980.
