Long Description:
The office building was in a conservation area with many stone buildings including not only the cathedral but old warehouses.

Although this building is modern with a lot of glass at the front the use of stone in the walls was chosen to blend with the area. However after the erection of the building many surrounding buildings have been demolished in readiness for the building of a new shopping centre.

The date stone is on the right hand side of the entrance to the building and approximately 1 metre off the ground.
Year of construction: 1989

Full inscription:
THIS STONE WAS LAID BY THE LORD MAYOR COUNCILLOR SMITH-MIDGELEY ON THE 18TH MAY 1989 TO COMMEMORATE THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE DEVELOPMENT
