Long Description:

1976 was the American Bicentennial and the Golden anniversary of the Roseville Sons of Italy Lodge No. 1413. To commemorate both events the Lodge erected a monument of Columbus at the right front of the downtown post office.

Founded in 1905, the Sons of Italy was designed to be a support system for all Italian immigrants that would assist them with becoming U.S. citizens, provide health/death benefits and educational opportunities and offer assistance with assimilation in America. Source

The Roseville Lodge is still active and meets on the 3rd Thursday at 6:30 p.m. at the Lions Club Lodge, 106 Sutter Street Street.
