Long Description:
A rectangular Victorian post Box set into a wall on Milton Road very near to the Furnace Puplic House and Milton Ponds. There is a collection times sheet but the glass cover is broken. Post Box number is shown as S74 58.
Tell us about the area the post box is situated.:
The surrounding area has two ponds available to anglers, and the adjacent Furnace Public House. Opposite is Milton Forge fields which have football pitches, a skateboard facility and a play area. Fields are also very popular with dog walkers. The ponds were originally part of the local Milton Forge Works, now long gone. Local industries were coal mining and iron works, these have also long gone.

Condition of the box: Good/Average/Poor: Average

Is this post box still in use?: Yes. Last collection Monday to Friday at 4.45pm, Saturday 11.30am. Other collections made be made at unspecified times.

Is VR embossed on the post box or is it an "anonymous" box?: Yes V R with a crown placed between

Any other embossed lettering, such as manufacturer?: Not able to tell due to thick coats of paint.
