Long Description:
"Three figures, a young boy, a woman, and a man representing people of the Ozarks, are placed up against a wall of rocks known as Murder Rocks. At the front proper right of the sculpture, the young boy, dressed in a short-sleeved shirt, kneels holding a fishing pole with his proper left hand. At the center, the figure of woman with long hair, wearing a long dress, sits and quilts. At the proper left of the sculpture the male figure, dressed in bib overalls, an open-collared shirt, hat, and shoes, stands holding a fiddle in his raised proper left hand and a bow in his proper right hand. Water flows down the rocks behind the figures to a small pool at the back of the sculpture. The sculpture rests on a two-tiered rectangular base made of rocks.

Commissioned by the City of Branson. Copyright for sculpture transferred to City of Branson on July 17, 1990. The sculpture celebrates the Ozarks area with references to local recreation, cultural activities, and historical events. The figures stand in front of Murder Rocks where the legendary outlaw Alf Bolin supposedly hid to ambush travelers on the Springfield-Harrison Route. Inscription on plaque located in front of base reads: 1990/LEGEND OF THE OZARKS/ARTIST: TIM SMITH/CHOSEN BY PUBLIC JURY/SPONSORED BY:/CITY OF BRANSON/BRANSON ARTS COUNCIL/DOWNTOWN BRANSON BETTERMENT ASSOC."
