Long Description:

On the corner of Devonshire and Benson Roads.

It has the words POST OFFICE either side of the slit and the royal coat of arms above the slit

The base reads COCHRANE & CO DUDLEY

Tell us about the area the post box is situated.:
This area grew up around the railway line alongside which Devonshire road runs. The box is roughly equidistant between Forest Hill and Honor Oak Park stations which were opened in 1839 on the then "London & Croydon Railway"
