Long Description:
Tower contains one bell founded by C & G Mears, 1860. Church was built in 1859 due to the population increase in the area. Churchyard holds large number of graves as well as a memorial to the 143 men and boys killed in the nearby Swaithe Pit explosion on the 6th December 1875, this can be seen from the main road.
There is also a World War I&II memorial at the start of the path Leading to the church.
