Long Description:
The sculpture was gift of the people of Honduras and the Republic of El Salvador, in recognition of New Orleans role as gateway of the Americas. Statue in great condition. Made of bronze, I would guess the statue is about 10 feet tall, mounted atop a 6 foot granite base. Also on base are a few dedication plaques, in both English and Spanish. Statue is located just across street from the famous St. Louis #1 Cemetery. He holds a scroll in his proper left hand. He is dressed in a double-breasted suit, with knee-length jacket, and boots.
