Long Description:
Saltaire village was created by Sir Titus Salt, and it is near the River Aire – hence the name.

It was created as a model village for the workers at his nearby woollen factory. All the main municipal buildings were situated in Victoria Square and guarded by 4 sandstone lions, 1 at each corner of the square.

Each lion is slightly different and this lion is called Pride, and like all the lions was sculpted by T. Milnes of London.
Its right paw is hanging over the pedestal, and in a classic lion grooming pose it is licking its left paw.
