Long Description:
Bret Hanover was an outstanding American Standardbred racehorse with record of 62 wins in 68 starts, the other finishes being five seconds and one third. One of only nine pacers to win harness racing's Triple Crown of Harness Racing for Pacers he was also the only horse to have been Harness Horse of the Year three times.

Retired from racing, he stood stud at Castleton Farm in Lexington, Kentucky where he immediately became one of the most in-demand breeding stallions in the country. Today his grave and this statue are in the Champions Cemetery at the Kentucky Horse Park. He was a horse whose accomplishments need no boasting, so the statue simply has the words, Bret Hanover, on the base.
