Long Description:
Samson was sculptor Jon Leitner's loyal canine friend. This piece blends both the intelligence and playfulness of his dog. The piece was installed in 1984 in Samson Park in Englewood, CO.

"Jon Leitner specializes in bronze sculpture, and explores traditional subjects through his refined realistic style. He blends rough textures with smooth polished surfaces in this commemorative sculpture representing John W Madden Jr.’s Yorkshire terrier. His loyal canine friend is the namesake for the park, and greets each visitor with his playful demeanor. Leitner received his BA from Hastings College and his MFA from University of Illinois."
