Long Description:
This box has had many coats of paint during its life and some of it has flaked off in the past. Unusual in that there is a flap on the inside of the letter slot. Is this to prevent birds taking it over as a nest hole?

The manufacturer's name is indistinct having had many coats of paint.

On a roadside wall in a small rural village.

Condition of the box: Good/Average/Poor: Good

Is this post box still in use?: Monday to Friday at 1600, Saturday at 0930.

Is VR embossed on the post box or is it an "anonymous" box?: Yes

Any other embossed lettering, such as manufacturer?: Yes

Manufacturer Inscription: WT Allen & Co, London (1881-1901)
