Long Description:
The picture is usually in the form of a heraldic device rather than a picture of a true lion.

In this case they have also put a painted stone lion above the door, as well as using the more traditional sign.

The pub is one of the oldest in Leeds and is now a Grade II Listed Building, so the lion should be there to stay.
