Long Description:
This museum is located in the city centre, now tourist area of Phuket city, which is located to the south east of the island and province of Phuket.

The museum is housed in a building, which was originally a school for Chinese children on the island. It became a museum 2010. The focus of the museum is the history of Chinese in Phuket, their culture, and their relationship with Thailand and Phuket. It also examines the history of the school, and contains a library of books on these subjects (no English language books).

The museum is well designed and laid out, with multi-lingual signs and displays. The building itself is something of an architectural attraction, containing elements of several different styles. The only drawback would be the entry fee for foreigners, 200b ($6) ! Upon entry one receives a pamphlet outlining the museum and describing the history of school. There is a tiny gift shop. No sign of the pernicious belief that visitors should not take photographs. I could find no website. Worth a visit.
