Long Description:
Along Ranong Rd, near the town fountain, is a stretch of road at which, is to be found, at most hours of the day and early evening a dozen or more buses. These are the smaller, non-airconditioned (in fact, most do not have windows), buses which convey locals and the odd tourist around the city of Phuket and to locations on the southern end of Phuket Island (where the city is located). The cost of a trip is 25 baht (~us80c) for a 15km trip to Patong Beach, so not overly pricey, however, you might want to bring along your ear protectors, between the engine and the road such a trip has a high db factor. Here there are also a goodly number of 'motor cycle taxi drivers' loitering around ready to speedily take you directly to your front door from this informal station.

There is no 'building' as such, however, the central market of Phuket city runs along this area of Ranong Rd, making the buses which run from this location an important part of the life of the inhabitants of the city.
