The official website describes the collection: visit link

'This Display House is devoted to carnivorous plants. These plants grow in nitrogen-poor environments and obtain this essential nutrient from insect protein. Carnivorous plants have evolved several times and use different methods to trap their prey – sticky, glandular leaf hairs in Sundews (Drosera), slimy leaf surfaces in Pinguicula, leaf pitchers in Sarracenia. They all require lime and nitrogen-free water so must be maintained using rain water.'
