This cannon is now a monument in memory of two major floods, 1776 and 1825. Previously, the cannon used to warn if there was flooding. One shot of the gun once in imminent danger. Twice meant possible dikes and three times was' go '. In 1928, a few years before When the zuiderzee the IJsselmeer was, shoot the canonman Van der Linden for the last time.
